Student Ministry at it's BEST
Reflecting on student ministry, thinking what do we do as leaders to help students walk close to the Lord. There are so many bible studies out there to use...some really good and some just trying to make a dollar. But which one? which one is the one? Here are some thoughts, not in any certain order.
1.It doesn't matter what we teach if the Holy Spirit does not move in our lives and in the life of the one hearing. 2. If we as leaders do not truly live out what we teach then why do we expect students to so? 3. We cannot lead students where we have not been....(tell them to pray and we don't...tell them to read their bible and we don't...tell them to serve and we don't...tell them to love unconditionally and we don't). 4. The word Leader is not a title it's a life style...lead by example. 5. We tell students to talk to others, besides their friends, truly love people...but we don't. 6. Live like your a believer...be intentionally in sharing the Gospel. 7. Students really desire to follow Godly leaders 8. Students don't care how much a leader knows...until a leader show how much they care. 9. Prayer changes everything. 10. Are you a Leader worth following? Where will students end up following you?
So...it may not be which is the right bible study...the one that will move in the hearts of students...it may be that us leaders don't spend enough time studying the BIBLE....the ONE holy word of God. Listen, the Word is enough! Study and meditate on it and let it flow out from deep inside of you...then students WILL be changed! And, that is a promise from God Himself...not me.

Random Thoughts
Sitting here thinking about how fast life goes by. For instance....the summer is over for students in school...next Monday school STARTS back! That's crazy how fast time goes...but it's true, our days on earth are very short just like the word says...like a mist, James 4:14. We need to be busy about the work of the Lord...telling the good news to those who will listen. Also, Life Groups have my thoughts captivated. We will start Life Groups in our homes Sept. 12th (@FBC Cooper)and I am excited how the Lord has brought things together like He has. I believe this will really bring our church back to being a family again and reach out to the ones in cooper who do not have a church family. Be in prayer as we walk with the Lord in Life Groups...oh yeah we have been training Life Group Shepherds and its is some good stuff...I mean hard things to think about, but good in that it is really growing me and all the shepherds. The staff has felt lead to do Life Groups for around a year now....so now it's time to go! Last random thought....God has amazing plans for us! OK that's a no brainer...but seriously think about all the things in the bible that God did thought ordinary people. It's crazy huh...and let me just say we or I am pretty ordinary ...if you know what I mean. The verse in Acts 4:13 where it says that Peter and John were unschooled (great comfort!) and ordinary men really does something for me. My prayer for my life and the life of FBC Cooper is that He will do something extra ordinary in His church with a bunch of ordinary people, so that HE gets the glory for it all.

SEC 2010
David Crowder, Tenth Ave North, Skit Guys and great speakers made for a great weekend in Frisco. This past weekend was one to remember! We stayed in the Embassy Suite in Frisco which was connected to the Convention Center where SEC was held...it was awesome....we could walk from our "condo suite" to the conference in about 5 mins...the best part was having students saved and surrendering to the ministry...Holden Jenkins a senior was one of those students...its all worth the time and effort when that happens. We left there and went to North Ft. Worth where we helped a couple of churches with an outreach project in their community...that was also a highlight for me....2-3 thousand people hearing the gospel...some for the first time! All i can say is God is Great and is always inviting us to join Him in His work, if we will just DO It!

I Can Do ALL things in Him
With the Holy Spirit living in me i can know and do the will of the Father...Jesus never asks me to do things that he doesn't equip me to do....but its through the work of the Spirit NOT me carrying out the task by myself....Praise God we have another day to serve Him and to be the hands and feet of Christ....Have a blessed and Spirit filled day :)

Consumed Camp 2010
Last week was amazing..........Consumed Camp 2010 !!! God really moved in the students and leaders. Many students gave their lives to the Lord for the very first time and many sold out to the Lord.....james said it the best .......be doers of the Word .....i believe many students realized that its time to be doers...the worship lead us to the throne of God every time...summing it in one word ...AWESOME !!!!!
